چکیده
In order to assess the dynamic performance of a submerged floating tunnel (SFT) subject flow-induced vibration (FIV) conditions in practical engineering application, one-way fluid–structure interaction (FSI) model consisting multi-scale hydrodynamic solvers combined with finite element method (FEM) is established. A typical long, large aspect ratio SFT modeled by coupling tube, joint, and mooring components. The simulated time domain under currents, waves, extreme events. FIV SFTs different cross-section shapes investigated analyzing each structure’s natural frequencies, hydraulic loading frequency, dominant modes. results show that tube dominated wave conditions. excitation SFT’s first mode height period should be avoided. Standing traveling patterns multi-mode response are observed during forcing structural can effectively reduced adopting parametric cross-section.

Transient Response Analysis of a Submerged Floating Tunnel under Seismic and Wave Excitations
In this study, a numerical procedure is described for the transient response analysis of a submerged floating tunnel with reference of a designed tunnel in Japan. Tension legs seizing the tunnel are simply modeled by a spring elements and the tunnel itself is assumed by two rigid bodies between which a flexible joint is used. A recorded seismic excitation is used while the wave load is calculat...

The concept of floating submerged tunnels becomes increasingly attractive idea to cross the straits. The structural solution in these bridges includes buoyancy force on tunnel body plus tension in mooring tethers. This paper investigates the effect of submergence on the dynamic response of submerged floating tunnels due to moving load. The inertial effect of the fluid on the submerged structure...
متن کاملTurbulent Flow in Wetlands with Submerged and Floating Vegetation
Turbulent Flow in wetlands with submerged and floating aquatic plants was studied by applying Boit’s poroelastic theory to turbulent flow. The velocity distribution formulas were described by solving the modified Bessel equations. The effects of plant porosity and turbulent coefficient on the velocity distribution, shear stress distribution and energy relations were analytically derived. Severa...

The article presents an innovative methodology for the 3D surveying and modeling of floating and semi-submerged objects. Photogrammetry is used for surveying both the underwater and emerged parts of the object and the two surveys are combined together by means of special rigid orientation devices. The proposed methodology is firstly applied to a small pleasure boats (approximately 6 meters long...

This paper presents the influence of non-linearity on the dynamic response of floating pile foundation subject to vertical vibration. A detailed theoretical investigation of stiffness and damping parameters is made for floating piles with different shear modulus reduction ratio of the weak zone soil. The accuracy of the non-linear analysis for predicting the dynamic response depends upon the ch...
